As a former student of Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard and Kenny Neal, Volker Klenner was taught the blues in the old tradition - shown directly by the "old masters". And besides these lessons, the USA had been the perfect place to find a way into the american music scene and make friends with some people. So finally the idea of the Boston Bluesfriends came up. Bruce Katz, Rod Carey and Per Hanson - fans of the Blues will know them better as "the Broadcasters"; the band, that played with Ronnie Earl from 1993 to 1998 - did like the idea from the beginning, and so the recording and one gig of "Volker Klenner & his Boston Bluesfriends" did happen in March 2000 in Germany. |
